Supported Employment -Division of Vocational Rehabilitation

The Supported Employment program by VR helps those with disabilities to find and maintain a job. VR offers continuing help from an employment specialist to work with your strengths, abilities, and interests. The program is for both youth and adults. Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and Deaf-Blind Services - Division of Vocational Rehabilitation

This agency is known as VR for short. They offer services to help people with all types of hearing loss. VR assists with hearing skills training for job searches and interviews. South Florida SSA/WIPA project (Work Incentives Planning and Assistance) Ticket to Work

Work Incentives Planning and Assistance (WIPA) is a program run by the Social Security Administration (SSA). It helps people who are 14-65 years old and receive Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) or Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits transition to work. It offers information about benefits and work incentives. It helps these individuals avoid problems including overpayments, loss of benefits, and financial hardship.

The Center for Independent Living of the Keys (CIL of the Keys) is an SSA WIPA project. It serves several counties in the South Florida region.

Advocacy/Independent Living/Assistive devices

This group helps disabled people get services that follow the ADA. The ADA is a law. ADA means Americans with Disabilities Act.
Advocacy means to help or to speak up for another person. You can learn how to advocate (or speak up for yourself) and be independent.

•Provided for free: Loan out wheelchairs, shower chairs, walkers with wheels, computer equipment and other medical equipment.
