Beacon Point is an integrated care campus in Marion County with multiple providers on one campus designed to eliminate barriers to substance use and behavioral health treatment. It provides a centralized location where Service Providers offer a comprehensive range of services to meet consumers’ needs. Marion County residents have on-demand access to care at Beacon Point, regardless of their ability to pay. Available services include detoxification and residential substance use treatment, outpatient individual and group therapy, assessment center, medication-assisted treatment, mental health medication management, domestic violence outreach, dental care, and primary care.

Regardless of insurance or ability to pay, all Marion County residents can access:
• 24/7 care for substance use recovery and mental health care
• Inpatient detoxification, including a 30-day residential substance use recovery program
• Support groups for substance use recovery
• Free and low-cost primary care services to complement their behavioral health care
Community health care partners:
• SMA Healthcare offers Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) for substance use recovery, including onsite pharmacy and lab work. They provide health assessments and referrals for continued recovery support.
• Beacon Point focuses on withdrawal management, peer recovery support, and residential treatment. They accept walk-ins in addition to providing on-the-scene assistance in the community, including transportation to support access to recovery and treatment services for Marion County residents.
• Lifestream Behavioral Center provides outpatient counseling services at the Beacon Point hub. They also conduct Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous meetings.

The mission of the Marion County Hospital District (MCHD) is to enhance the quality of life for Marion County residents by promoting health and wellness through various community initiatives. We are committed to creating a sustainable system of care by fostering a multidisciplinary network of providers. Our key focus areas include diabetes & obesity, dental health, substance use & behavioral health, unintentional injuries and prevention. MCHD runs several programs internally, including the Active Marion Project, the Community Home Project, Fitness and Nutrition in Schools, and manage the services at Beacon Point, furthering our commitment to improving health and wellness in the community. MCHD also provides support to many organizations in Marion County like Heart of Florida and SMA Healthcare to ensure that all Marion County residents, regardless of their ability to pay, have access to the services they need.
