Abuse Hotline - Florida Department of Children and Families

The Florida Abuse Hotline accepts reports 24 hours a day. Anyone who suspects that a child or vulnerable adult is abused or neglected needs to make a report. You can report online, by phone or by fax.

Alachua County - Victim Services and Rape Crisis Center

The Alachua County Victim Services and Rape Crisis Center offers a program to help anyone who is a victim or survivor of violence. Victims do NOT have to report to law enforcement to receive services. All services are free and private.

Services Include:

  • Immediate outreach to victims of sexual battery
  • Face-to-face and telephone counseling
  • Support groups
  • Accompany and support victims through criminal justice proceedings
  • Transportation to court appearances and other appointments related to the victimization
  • Assist with application process for Victims Compensation and relocation for Sexual Assault Victims
  • Assistance with Protective Injunctions
  • Emergency assistance with urgent special needs
  • Personal advocacy
  • Information and referral
  • Community education, speeches, and consultation
  • Network with other victim service providers and state organization
  • Outreach services provided in the Gainesville Police Department
  • HIV Test Site

This group offers help for people who have been in jail and struggle with substance abuse, but haven't committed violent crimes. Domestic Violence & Human Trafficking (Lucha) Program-Americans for Immigrant Justice

Lucha is for those dealing with domestic violence and human trafficking. There is free legal help for immigrants. You can get healthcare and mental health counseling. They can help with housing, school, and jobs. They help with banking, taxes, and earning a driver's license. See the website to learn more.

Eating Disorder Groups- National Alliance for Eating Disorders Awareness
