Okeechobee County Health Department provides health care services to those within the community. Some services are given at low to no-cost.

Services include:

This agency offers a clothes closet to those in need. They also have business attire for both men and women. Households are limited to one visit per month, with a two-bag limit. This center offers many services to those in need. Information and referrals, telephone use and mail box. Clothing, laundry, showers and restrooms. Haircuts once a week. Florida ID and birth certificate assistance. Food Stamps and disability applications. Bus passes and limited emergency financial aid.

OA provides groceries to those in need. Food items include beans, fruit, soup, vegetables, spaghetti, bread, margarine, and peanut butter. One visit may be made each month. A new referral is necessary for each visit. Please call for more information.

OA provides new and gently-used clothing, along with new underwear and socks, for children from newborn to high school age. One referral allows four visits over a year, so that children get clothing appropriate for each season. Please contact for more information.

Orlando Union Rescue Mission provides Emergency Shelter. Men living on the street in need of safe shelter are welcomed to the Mission’s Emergency program for seven free nights. After this time a $6 dormitory fee is requested. Call for more information.

Orlando Union Rescue Mission provides the O.U.R. Bargain Store. Discounted items are sold to the general public. Free clothing and household items are given to the needy and to families moving out of the Mission and into a home of their own. Call for more information.
