Neighborhood Health Clinic provides the Healthy Lifestyles program. This program helps with healthy lifestyle education. They offer classes in four week cycles on Saturday's, from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM. They also offer free lunch during the classes. Please call or visit website for more information.

Healthy Start is a program that screens pregnant women and newborn babies. They identify risk factors for low birth weight and infant mortality. Healthy Start is free for everyone. A team of nurses, social workers, and peer counselors assist families in finding out their needs. Classes are in English and Spanish. No appointment is needed. NewboRN Home Visiting is a free program for women in Alachua County who give birth there. Within a week a registered nurse or midwife will visit. They will check on the health of the baby and mother, as well as help with breastfeeding and nutrition, give tips of how to safely care for the baby, and help connect the family to other local resources. MIECHV / Parents as Teachers is free for parents with infants and young kids in stressful life situations. They teach parents and caregivers skills to help their kids be healthy and safe. As well successful in school.

This program gives pregnant women and young children care and home visits. Babies get developmental reviews. Mothers get parenting advice and support.
They also get breastfeeding and nutrition advice. Materials about prenatal care, birth and infant care are given. Information and referral to local services are given.
Heart of Florida Health Center provides healthcare to all in Marion County. They offer a range of preventative and primary services. Help with medications is also available. The minimum charge for a visit is between $15 and $50. All charges for services are discounted on a sliding fee scale. This is based on your household income based on the Federal Poverty Guidelines.
