Housing Assistance - Seminole County Government

Short term aid is available to clients for rent, mortgage, and utilities. A household must have a financial hardship.

State funds through the Florida Housing Finance Corporation are given to help very low, low, and moderate income homeowners and renters. S.H.I.P funds give purchase help for future homeowners.

This program provides rental help for people to have decent, safe and clean housing.

People applying for financial help can attend an info session on Mondays or Wednesdays.

They do business in accordance with the Federal Fair Housing Law.

Housing Authority Resident Services--Family Self-Sufficient Program

This program is for residents of Village Central or Pine Village. It is for families who want to become more self-sufficient.

Self-sufficiency means:
• The head of household has obtained employment and
• All family members are free of cash assistance for 12 months
or
• 30% of the monthly adjusted income meets or exceeds the fair market rental rate for their current unit.

Our resident services department will help you address some of the major hurdles, such as:
• Finding childcare
• Locating transportation
• Help finding a (better) job
• Going back to school to get more education and training
• Improving your credit
• Overcoming a criminal background

Housing Law - Legal Aid Services of Collier County

Legal Aid Services of Collier County providing Housing Law assistance. They offer a wide range of services designed to assist eligible clients with housing legal issues.

Services include, but not limited:

  • Defending unlawful eviction
  • Foreclosure defense (including mortgages, HOA, reverse mortgage)
  • Assisting Tenants on issues involving security deposits, shut-off of utilities, retention of personal property)
  • Assisting tenants impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic
  • Mobile home tenancy issues
  • Unsafe and uninhabitable living conditions Housing discrimination, including accommodations for those with disabilities
  • Senior housing issues (assisted living, nursing homes, eligibility and safety)
