Services:
Children’s Home Society of Florida provides Healthy Start. It is a program for pregnant women and families with infants. They will help you prepare for your new baby. They can refer you to free childbirth classes also. When your baby is born, they can provide developmental screenings, and continue helping after the birth. Please call or visit website.
Health Start is a free program for all pregnant women and women with babies under the age of 3.

This group offers the Critical Financial Assistance Program. The program helps military families with grants and not loans. Help is also given in the form of grocery cards. The payments are made directly to service providers. There are eligibility criteria that must be met. Please call or visit the website for more information.
Usual Types of Assistance Are:
Monroe County Health Department provides the WIC program. WIC is a federally funded nutrition program. For Women (must be pregnant, breastfeeding or less than 6 months postpartum), Infants and Children up to 5 years of age. See website for more information.
