Lutheran Services of Florida offers help for refugees in Florida. They help with jobs, immigration, filling out forms, and other services. Please call for more information.
Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches provides residential care to children in need. It is for ages 8 through 18. Youth are cared for by "cottage parents" who helps them. Children from low to moderate-income working families or with other identified risk factors may receive scholarships to attend an early education program. Eligibility is based on the parents’ income and must not exceed 150% of the federal poverty level. Children ages birth to 13 years are eligible for scholarship. Exceptions may be made for older children with special needs. Participants in this program receive:
Multiagency Network for Students with Emotional/Behavioral Disabilities (SEDNET) offers help to students that are at-risk because of emotional/behavioral disorders. SEDNET helps students learn appropriate behaviors. They also help to reduce dependency. SEDNET helps students fully participate in all aspects of school and community. CARD helps by sharing lists of resources. This list is personalized to the client’s area and insurance. Consultations can be done over the phone, over email, or video chat. This agency offers the (VPK) Voluntary Prekindergarten program. This program is for Florida children who are four years old. Offers services for students with special needs as well. Please call or visit the website for more information.
Any child from 2 1/2 to 18 years of age is eligible to have a wish granted. Anyone can refer a child to this agency. They cannot have received a wish from another similar agency.
