Family Promise - Sarasota

Family Promise of Sarasota is here to help families who are newly facing homelessness and have minor children.
Families wishing to use our free services must meet the following criteria:

  • Must have minor children in your custody
  • May not be using drugs or alcohol - we do a drug screen
  • May not have felony records - we conduct background checks
  • May not have a severe mental health diagnosis
  • Must be able and willing to be employed full-time (adults in the family)
  • Florida Department of Education - McKay Scholarship for Students with Disabilities

    The McKay Scholarships for Students with Disabilities gives students with special needs the chance to attend a private school. The program is for students in grades K-12. Please see the website for more information.

    Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches - Harmony In The Street

    This agency has a mobile camping program. It combines Summer Camp and Youth Camp and offers it to areas that may be socially and/or economically challenged. The aim of this program is to teach youth how to use their free time in a positive manner. It also helps teaching to accept others and appreciate the cultural differences of all.     Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches - Summer Camp

    FSYR offers a summer camp for youth ages 10-15. Kids can take part in many fun activities such as canoeing, archery and swimming. They have the chance to build teamwork and peer communication skills. They can also enjoy the tranquil outdoors. Campers will have the chance to interact with law enforcement personnel and volunteers and learn other social skills. Please see the website for more information.

    Free Legal Services - Bay Area Legal Services

    This agency provides free legal services in Hillsborough, Manatee, Pasco, Pinellas, and Sarasota Counties. They do not handle criminal or traffic cases. They do not handle Workers Comp claims. Please see the website for all services.
