Alachua County Public Schools offers services and support programs for eligible immigrant students and families. The term "eligible immigrant student" is defined as a student who:
(a) is 3-21 years old;
(b) was not born in any state, Washington, DC or Puerto Rico; (children of military personnel who were born outside these territories are considered immigrant for the purposes of this program)
(c) has not been attending any one or more schools in the United States for more than 3 full academic years.

FSYR offers a summer camp for youth ages 10-15. Kids can take part in many fun activities such as canoeing, archery and swimming. They have the chance to build teamwork and peer communication skills. They can also enjoy the tranquil outdoors. Campers will have the chance to interact with law enforcement personnel and volunteers and learn other social skills. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tampa Bay provides mentoring programs for children. They offer a Site-Based Program, or a Community Based Program. Volunteers will meet with their "Little Brother" or "Little Sister" at a near-by school or after-school site.
