University of Florida - Mobile Outreach Clinic

The goal of the University of Florida’s Outreach Mobile Clinic offers health care services to those in need. They are staffed by teams of professionals and students. They bring health care directly to neighborhoods in Alachua County. They offer free or reduced-price care to people right in their neighborhoods.

Goals of the Clinic:

  • Help people enroll in health plans that they qualify for
  • Identify neighborhoods where residents are in need
  • Offer primary and preventive care to these areas
  • Provide disease prevention services
  • Screen for chronic illnesses

Access Florida - Food Stamps(EBT), Temporary Cash Assistance, and Medicaid

The Food Stamp Program(EBT) helps people with low income to buy healthy food. The application can be done online. Please see the website for your local service center. The application is also used for Temporary Cash Assistance, Medicaid, and all other Dept of Children and Families services.

You can view the application in English, Haitian-Creole, or Spanish.

ACL - Connecting People to Services

The Administration for Community Living or ACL for short. The group believes that services should be strong enough so individuals can be supported in their own home. Or other community-based settings. The group does not help people directly but has several programs to help connect them with services that do. These programs help older adults and people with disabilities. Helps them find supports and services that are needed to successfully live in their communities. Alachua County Health Department - Clinical and Nutrition Services

The Alachua County Health Department offers the following Primary Care Medical Services:

  • Health screening
  • Immunizations
  • Laboratory services
  • Medical follow-up
  • Physical examination
  • Referral to specialists
  • Some prescription medicines
  • Treatment of sexually transmitted diseases
  • Well and sick care
  • X-ray referrals

Eligibility is based upon available resources. They accept new Primary Care patients regardless of income, insurance status, or Medicaid status. Fees are applied on a sliding scale. Call for more information.

Ayers Health & Rehabilitation Center - Healthcare Services

This Center provides therapy services to residents in four counties. They can get long or short-term rehab care. They can get inpatient or outpatient services. They can also get skilled nursing care. Many short term patients continue their therapy on an outpatient basis. Licensed therapists work with you to improve your level of function.
