Women's Health Services & Support - A Woman's Place

This program provides support to pregnant women and new mothers. It offers counseling and addresses the issues that are important to each client. They will help you to meet goals, get parenting advice or resolve relationship issues. Women who are part of the program receive Life Points, which can be redeemed for new baby clothing, diapers and baby supplies.

You must be pregnant or have a baby under one year old to be a part of the program.

Workforce Advantage Academy Charter School

This is a charter school that combines school and work experience for its students. 11th and 12th grade students spend part of their week working in a paid job. The other part of the week is spent in classes studying subjects needed for graduation. Students complete the same graduation requirements set by Orange County Public Schools.

This agency offers Wraparound. It is a planning process. The process follows a series of steps to help children and families. The programs and services, offered through Wraparound, are driven by the needs specific to each family. The help given works to prevent certain situations or events. Youth Crisis Shelters - Youth & Family Alternatives

This agency runs several youth crisis shelters. They provide residential group care. The help is for youth between the ages of 10 and 17. These youth are runaways, homeless, or have been kicked or locked out by their parents or guardians. They may need short-term respite or crisis placement. They may also need emergency shelter due to abuse or neglect. There is no cost to families.

Youth Development Program - Touching Miami with Love

This group helps kids from kindergarten to 12th grade. They work on improving their education and offer fun activities. The programs are in Overtown and West Homestead.

The children's programs include help with schoolwork, support at school, spiritual guidance, fitness, STEM learning, field trips, creative arts, social skills, evening dinners, mentoring, advice for after high school, and summer internships.
