Alpha Pregnancy Center - Pregnancy Assistance

Alpha Pregnancy Center helps women who are pregnant, or women who aren't sure if they are pregnant. They have lab quality pregnancy testing. They will talk to you about your options, and hear any concerns you may have. They can answers questions about pregnancy, adoption, abortion, parenting, and sexually transmitted diseases.

ALPHA Prevention Program

The ALPHA program is a school-based prevention program. It gives support and counseling to students. The services are free during school hours. They are offered at seven elementary schools in Orange County. Children must be enrolled in their target grade level and have a permission slip signed by a parent. ALS - Care Assist Program

This agency provides a full range of services to people with ALS. Newly diagnosed clients can go to the website to register and find support groups. They can get temporary loaner medical equipment at no cost. The Care Assist Program helps families get discounts for nondurable medical equipment. They can also get grants for home and van modificatons.

Altrusa House

The program offers relevant personal, social, therapeutic, and work skill training to adults with disabilities through community and center-based resources. The activities are designed to advance individual independence and expand participants’ life choices at work, home, school, and in the community.

Alzheimer's Caregive Support Group-Alvin A. Dubin Alzheimer's Resource Center

Two caregiver support groups are offered:

The Adult Children Support Group - The focus is on issues, concerns and questions adult children face as they care for a parent with memory loss. We also assist in teaching more about memory loss.

The Nursing Home/Assisted Living Issues Support Group - Topics covered:

  • How to be active in the loved one's care
  • How to make your visits more meaningful
  • How to resolve concerns and communicate with facility staff
  • State and federal regulations governing nursing homes and assisted living facilities
  • The care plan process
