Low Vision Resources - Foundation Fighting Blindness

This group helps people who have diseases of the eye that can cause blindness specifically the retina. They connect people with different resources that can help living with vision loss. Low-Income Energy Assistance Program - Pasco

LIHEAP helps those in need with their power bills. It is a one-time payment that is made directly to the power company. Households interested in applying should contact the Mid Florida Community Services office in their county for an appointment.

There are also funds for Crisis Energy Assistance. It helps households that have received a final notice or disconnection of services.

MAC Associates - Counseling

This agency provides group, family and individual counseling. They treat such issues as trauma, assault and domestic violence. The aim is to help clients recover from the emotional issues that have brought them to counseling. Courtney, a golden retriever, provides pet assisted therapy when needed.

Marion Senior Services provides In-Home Support Services, such as:

There is a waiting list for most programs. Clients are ranked based on level of need. Fees for service are determined at the time of the in-home assessment. It will vary based on the client’s ability to pay. Fees range from no charge for Medicaid clients, to a small monthly co-pay for CCE clients, to full pay for private clients. Most programs are for persons at least 60 years of age. Medicaid also requires meeting income and asset criteria. The Home Care and Alzheimer’s programs require a caregiver in the home.
