AAA - National Family Caregiver Support Program

This agency gives help to unpaid caregivers for persons sixty or older. The goal of this program is to ease the emotional, physical, and financial hardships of continual care. Services include screening and assessment, respite care and counseling. They can help with chore services and medical supplies. A second part of the program helps grandparents 55 and over who serve as primary caregivers for grandchildren or other related children under 18. They can help with support groups, chore service, and legal assistance.

There is no charge for services.

Alzheimer's Family Organization - Pasco County Support Groups

Bay Care Behavioral Health - Emergency Services - Crisis Suicide

An expansion of the Bay Care system is Morton Plant North Bay Hospital Recovery Center. It is the only freestanding psychiatric hospital in Pasco County. It is a Baker Act receiving facility.

Treatment at the Center includes acute care services, case management, crisis intervention and support. The medical staff focuses on the unique needs of each patient. In addition to mental health care, good nutrition and physical activity are part of the care plan. Each patient will get aftercare planning before being discharged.

Catholic Charities - Counseling Services - Pasco

Counseling services are provided to individuals, families and couples. They are for anyone who has personal, relationship and family problems. Counselors can help with grief and loss, anxiety, and marital conflict. There are services for children. Fees are based on household size and income. Counseling is also provided to children in selected Pinellas schools. Life Skills Classes and therapeutic groups are also offered. This includes parenting skills classes. Day and evening appointments are available.

Chapters Health System - Bereavement Program (Pasco County)

Chapters Health System offers individual and group support programs for persons affected by different stages of grief. There are special children's programs. They include individual and group counseling. There are also age-appropriate camping weekends. Programs are free and open to anyone even if the loss was not under hospice care. Contact the bereavement department to learn what group might be best for you.

Children's Home - Community Counseling Services

This agency provides outpatient family therapy to families having stressful times. They serve children ages 6 to 18 and their families. Family counseling is provided in the office or in-home. They treat children for aggression, depression, school difficulties and more. Their goal is to help children be the best they can be.
