Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tampa Bay provides mentoring programs for children. They offer a Site-Based Program, or a Community Based Program. Volunteers will meet with their "Little Brother" or "Little Sister" at a near-by school or after-school site. Outings can range from going for a walk, working on arts and crafts, or watching a sporting event. The agency provides free or reduced-priced tickets to various events in the community. NA is a nonprofit fellowship of people for whom drugs had become a major problem. They meet regularly to help each other stay clean. They are not interested in what or how much you used, but only in what you want to do about your problem. Please see the website for more information.
FSYR offers a summer camp for youth ages 10-15. Kids can take part in many fun activities such as canoeing, archery and swimming. They have the chance to build teamwork and peer communication skills. They can also enjoy the tranquil outdoors. Campers will have the chance to interact with law enforcement personnel and volunteers and learn other social skills.
