Anchorage Children's Home - Bridge Transitional Living

The Bridge Transitional Living program serves up to six youth in house and fourteen youth in non-residential services. It empowers these 16- to 22-year-old youths to become independent and fully contributing members of their communities. This work is done through an 18-month program. During this time, they will continue or complete their education. Additionally, they will work to obtain employment. They will also develop essential life skills. Provides skills development and support. Helps prepare Veterans to reintegrate into the community. Helps maintain permanent housing of their choice. On-site staff ensure the Veterans access needed:

Boley Centers - Safe Havens

Provides individuals who have been homeless, have a mental illness and often a co-occurring substance abuse disorder as well, with a safe place to live. Staff build relationships and encourage residents to accept treatment and obtain medical care. Once residents are ready for mainstream services, they may choose to enter permanent housing and treatment programs. Contact for more information.

CARC - Advocates for Citizens with Disabilities, Inc. - Client Services

CARC – Advocates for Citizens provides Adult Day Training. The following services and activities are available to support each individual and to help them achieve their goals:

  • Adult Basic Education provided by the Columbia County School Board
  • Arts and crafts
  • Assistance with personal care activities is provided on a one-to-one basis in the individual’s own home or family home or while individual is engaged in a community activity
  • Community activities and field trips
  • Outdoor sports
  • Personal Care Assistance
  • Social activities such as parties and dances
  • Specialized training in the activities of daily living, adaptive and social skills, and self-advocacy
  • Vocational training and paid work through the manufacture and sale of various products, retail work, and lawn maintenance (examples of assistance are meal preparation, bathing, dressing, personal hygiene and other self care activities)

Christian Care Center - The Women's Care Center

The Women’s Care Center focuses on substance abuse and emotional and spiritual issues. They can accommodate up to 16 people at a time. It offers a one-year program broken up into two pieces. The first six months involves intense counseling, Bible study, financial and other life skills help. One-on-one mentoring with women from the church and the community will also be available. The second phase involves finding work. They will learn how to apply that which has been learned so that clients can have long-term success. Call for more information.
