Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tampa Bay provides mentoring programs for children. They offer a Site-Based Program, or a Community Based Program. Volunteers will meet with their "Little Brother" or "Little Sister" at a near-by school or after-school site. Outings can range from going for a walk, working on arts and crafts, or watching a sporting event. The agency provides free or reduced-priced tickets to various events in the community. MBH offers many outpatient services. They serve adults as well as youth. Help is available 24 hours a day. Patients can get counseling, rehab services and treatment for opioid dependency. They can meet in a group therapy setting or get more intensive day treatment. Please call for more information.

LIHEAP helps those in need with their power bills. It is a one-time payment that is made directly to the power company. Households interested in applying should contact the Mid Florida Community Services office in their county for an appointment.
There are also funds for Crisis Energy Assistance. It helps households that have received a final notice or disconnection of services.
