LIHEAP helps those in need with their power bills. It is a one-time payment that is made directly to the power company. Households interested in applying should contact the Mid Florida Community Services office in their county for an appointment.
There are also funds for Crisis Energy Assistance. It helps households that have received a final notice or disconnection of services.

The Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) helps people when they have an unpaid energy bill. The program works to help low-income families. For the first half of the month, LIHEAP gives priority to single mothers, those aged 60 or older, the disabled, and children under five years of age. All other clients are served the second half of the month. They can help every six months, once in the winter and once in the summer. The Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic is called LITC for short. It helps low-income individuals in disputes with the IRS. These disputes are for amounts up to $50,000. Daystar Life Center provides internet access and a phone for people to use. They also let clients use their address to safely receive mail. This is helpful for people who are homeless, staying in temporary housing, or worried about their mail being stolen. Call 727.825.0442 for more information.
This group runs the Manatee Veterans Village. It is a GPD program. The program provides transitional housing and case management services. It also provides clinical treatment.
