Healthy Families Manatee is a free program that gives families useful information on parenting and child development. They offer tools to make parenting easier.

What can Healthy Families do for you and your family?
A family support worker will visit you in your home to:

• Check to see if your child is developing as expected
• Connect you to other community services your family may need
• Help you learn healthy ways of dealing with everyday stress
• Offer you encouragement
• Provide information on your child's growth and development
• Teach you positive parenting skills

This program is part of the Ounce of Prevention Fund of Florida. It is a nationally accredited family support and coaching program. The program is open to expectant parents. Healthy Families of North Florida also helps parents of newborns going through stressful life situations. With a little help, parents can provide a safe and stable environment for their children. Children’s Home Society of Florida provides Healthy Start. It is a program for pregnant women and families with infants. They will help you prepare for your new baby. They can refer you to free childbirth classes also. When your baby is born, they can provide developmental screenings, and continue helping after the birth. Please call or visit website.
