The ongoing focus of Child Health Services is to stress prevention, early problem identification and parent education.
The Child Health Program provides
- Health education and referrals
- Nursing assessment and intervention
- School physicals
- Vision and hearing screenings
- WIC certification/recertification
Services include communicable disease control including:
- Childhood immunizations
- HIV risk assessment and testing
- Testing for tuberculosis
Immunizations are free for children age 4 weeks through age 18 years. There is no appointment necessary. The office hours are Monday through Friday 8am to 5 pm except on the 4th Friday.
Florida Telecommunications Relay Service provides phones for those who qualify.

Florida's Vision Quest provides on-site care to local schools, Boys and Girls Clubs, and other after-school programs. Children with a referral from a school or health department receive a free vision exam and eyeglasses to those who need them. Please call or visit the website for more information.
GoodDays provides financial support to patients who cannot afford medication. They also offer help with transportation and other travel costs. Please call or visit website for more information.
This program gives pregnant women and young children care and home visits. Babies get developmental reviews. Mothers get parenting advice and support.
They also get breastfeeding and nutrition advice. Materials about prenatal care, birth and infant care are given. Information and referral to local services are given.
A simplified Medicaid form is available for pregnant women. It will cover prenatal care and other health related services while a woman is pregnant. Information on breastfeeding is given. Counseling services are also given.
