There is a waiting list for most programs. Clients are ranked based on level of need. Fees for service are determined at the time of the in-home assessment. It will vary based on the client’s ability to pay. Fees range from no charge for Medicaid clients, to a small monthly co-pay for CCE clients, to full pay for private clients. Most programs are for persons at least 60 years of age. Medicaid also requires meeting income and asset criteria. The Home Care and Alzheimer’s programs require a caregiver in the home. This facility provides care to elderly people who need help with daily tasks. They can help with tasks such as bathing or dressing, mobility and meal preparation. This agency provides free or low-cost meals to homebound seniors who cannot prepare their own food. Services may be free depending on each person's financial needs. This group offers the Meals on Wheels program. The program provides one, well-balanced meal every weekday. The meals are prepared by AdventHealth Lake Wales. Volunteers deliver the meals. It is $5 per meal. There is a sliding-fee scale available for those who qualify. Please call or visit the website for more information.
Senior Resource Association provides the Meals on Wheels program. Volunteers deliver meals to clients’ homes Monday through Friday. They do this between 10:30 am and 2:30 pm. They also give a daily safety check and friendly interaction. Hot, nutritious meals are delivered to seniors’ doors – five days a week. They also offer frozen meals for the weekends. If you are homebound and have been discharged from a healthcare facility within the last 30; or, whose caregiver is going into a healthcare facility for a brief period of time, they offer Emergency Meals on Wheels.
Medicare is a health insurance program. It is for people 65 or older. Certain people under the age of 65 may be eligible. They must meet certain eligibility requirements.
